Through these positions, I have been able to explore and hone my skills in the fashion marketing space. I have learned how to creatively approach marketing strategies and have gained important skills like organization, interpersonal skills, problem solving, and time management. I enjoy working with a team to create unique ideas and solve problems, yet I am also a self-starter that has a creative eye with an ability to recognize brand image and aesthetics.
Out of the workplace, I believe in carrying out forms of self-care so one can lead a fulfilled life in all aspects. For myself these include painting, reading, music, and spending time with friends and family.
About Me
My name is Olivia Wimpari, I am a junior at the University of Michigan studying Communication and Media through the School of Literature, Science, and the Arts with a minor in Social Media Analysis and Design through the School of Information. I am from Imlay City, a small town in rural Michigan where I always wanted the opportunity to explore fashion and creativity further. I would describe myself as a creative person with an eagerness to collaborate with others on projects to create something unique. I am incredibly detail-oriented and strive for perfection on everything that I work on. My love for fashion is driven by my love for artistry, imagination, and authenticity. I also have a passion for social media and the community it creates through shared emotions and creativity.
Coming to the University of Michigan, I have been able to explore my fashion interests. I am currently the Public Relations Coordinator of SHEI Magazine, the largest and oldest print editorial fashion magazine officially recognized by the University. Along with that, I am a team member on the marketing team for VIPs Fund, a student-led non profit aimed at fighting for sustainability and wildlife conservation through clothing and accessories created with recycled materials. I was also the Social Media Director for a Panehellenic organization on campus for a little over a year where I learned many interpersonal and brand marketing skills.
